Sorry! Back to the band!!! Hrag is an extremely electrifying bass player! Seriously, he's so intense when he plays and always has this fierce look in his eyes....its awesome! And Adrian, wow! What freaking energy! He pounds those drums so hard, its a wonder he doesn't break more drumsticks and drum heads! He's amazing to watch! And then there's Ryan, the seemingly shy one who I've never seen or talked to offstage but man, can the guy play a guitar or what!!! Seriously, he's really good!
I wish I could tell you their setlist but the new album isn't out yet so this was the first I heard of any of the songs except for the first single, "Cocaine (we're all going to Hell)". Which yes, they played that of course and it was phehomenal! The whole crowd went nuts when they played it! I know they also played "Poughkeepsie, NY" which was even more haunting to hear live than when I read the lyrics. The only other two I recognized from reading the lyrics were "Stay Young" and "The New National Anthem". I know they played a few others but I am just not sure what they were. But seriously, the show rocked and I hope its not another 2 years before I see them again. Here are some pictures from the show!
Unfortunately I was all the way to the right side of the stage and Ryan was all the way to the left and these were the only two pictures that came out of him! :-(

And anyone that has ever tried to photograph a drummer knows how freaking difficult it is unless you are backstage, which I wasn't!!! But here is what I got of Adrian....which isn't much!!

Here are some pictures of Hrag, who was standing right in front of me which made it alot easier to photograph him!!!!

And here are some pictures of Eric who was often standing right in front of us too, and therefore easy to photograph!!!

And here are pictures of us with them after the show. And yes, they are a bunch of really super sweet guys! It was so awesome to finally get to meet them!

And now we are on to Kill Hannah! Kick ass show indeed!!! Poor Mat and Greg were sick but that didn't slow them down. They still gave it their all and it was great!! "Life in the Arctic" started playing as the band made their entrance. There was smoke everywhere and the bass and guitars had laser lights streaming out the ends. Then they busted into one of my favorite songs, "Boys and Girls" which really riled everyone up! It was awesome! Its definitely a pick-me-up kind of song and a great opening one at that! Depsite Mat's cold/cough/sore throat, he sounded really good vocally!!!! And of course he was running around the stage and jumping up and down....I don't know how....I give him credit for that!!! So many bands out there would have canceled the show in their position but they didn't thankfully!!!! Jonathon has a lot of energy and was really fun to watch as well. Several times he jumped up on the barricade to play. He really gets into playing too and is a truly amazing guitar player!!! Dan too....he's very intense and very focused on playing well...which he does! And Greg, at the tail end of a 3 week battle with the same cough/cold/sore throat shit he passed on to his buddy Mat, rocked the hell out of his bass. Of course there is also Elias who we met at the merch booth before the show and had no idea it was him. I knew they had a live drummer named Elias but had never seen him so of course, standing face to face with him, I had no idea! He was a nice guy though! And one Hell of a drummer! The whole band is really great and just has awesome chemistry together. I would definitely see them again! The other songs they sang (in no particular order) are Believer, Lips Like Morphine, Kennedy, Race the Dream, Crazy Angel, 10 More Minutes with You, Love You To Death, Songs That Saved My Life (which according to Mat was only the 2nd time they ever played it live!!), Black Poison Blood, and Goodnight Goodbye. They also came out for an encore in which they let the crowd decide whether they wanted to hear Under The Milky Way, which they have never played live OR Welcome to Chicago. After a few minutes of deliberating, they bursted into Welcome to Chicago which was just awesome!!!
I know, enough talking and get onto the pictures already!!!! All the smoke and lasers and lights made pictures very difficult but here is what I managed!!!!
Again, we were all the way to the right of the stage and Jonathon was all the way to the left so these were the only pictures that even remotely came out!!!

Greg was sometimes in front of us, and sometimes not! But we got some pretty good shots of him!

Here's Dan!!! He was right in front of us...soooo, some more good shots!

And here's Mat!!!

And now after the show!!! Yet another bunch of really nice friendly guys!!!
