A Given Name By: Devin Cade Top of the world, my invisible others, invisible to my eyes, invisible now, "My brothers." Bottom of the pit, "Feeling the strain," By myself, being myself, Alone to feel the pain. We were never close, so nothing ventured, nothing gained. Afterall, the only thing we have in common, is just a last name. Sometimes I wonder, "Is that all it takes?" Obviously not, because with each passing year, my curiosity still aches. What would’ve it been like, To throw around a ball? Even the littlest things, stand within my mind so tall. There’s so many things granted, "given and taken away," I guess never knowing is somehow our ode to that fate given... Everyday.Back to Devin's Poetry Index
