Eyes Closed

I just can’t stop thinking about you,
trying to think of something to say,
I want to say "I love you"
but I’m afraid you’ll turn away.

I don’t want to be by myself,
I’m tired of being alone.
I just want to hold you forever,
Yet that’s too much to ask, I know.

Time can tell a thing or two
about the way it should be,
But what have I done so wrong
to make love forget about me?

The soothing caress of words,
In the arms of ones embrace.
If these things are love,
It has left me lost, without a trace.

If I feel it just for a moment,
I know it’s a moment imposed,
Love, now a faded memory,
Seen only with Eyes Closed.
