If I Could

If I could,
I would ease your pain.
If I could,
I would cradle you forever
and never demand the same.

If I could,
I would magically take you away.
If I could,
I would make you my eternal aim
and do my damnedest to show it, everyday.

If I could,
I would fill all your dark days with light.
And if I could,
I would kiss your lips constantly
and even say please everytime, just to be polite.

If I only could,
I would do everything right down the line
and trade any part of tomorrow or forever
just to make you mine.
