Thorns of Emptiness By: Devin Cade When I wake in the morning, thoughts inhabit my mind. Will I make this day my own? Or shall it be tomorrow’s find? Some part of me, says I’m going to take this day by the horns. Relentless of fate, "Walking through the fire," where destiny scorns. Other times, I pray for death, and want to say; "Dig my grave, dig it deep, Marble stone, from head to feet." "So I may never dig free," An abomination in life, and now death. Chanting, "All, just let me be." Leave me t my possibilities, with thoughts unscathed, if it’s only me here... I can’t be betrayed. I don’t want to see, yet another day. So now I pray only to emptiness, "Go away," please, just go away.Back to Devin's Poetry Index
