Who Do You Pray To? By: Devin Cade Who do you pray to when you close your eyes? Is he sullen or cheered, and holds himself in your eyes revered? Does your God have wings? How much does he care? Is he one or many? Wise enough to kill or spare? Is he watching you right now? What do you think he sees? If you were dungeoned or mistreated, can he hear your pleas? Does your God forgive, even the worst of sins? Does he tell you his story, of how it ends or begins? And if so, what are his reprimands? Can you say your God understands? Where will you be, when you realize, "Courage wants to laugh" Could your conscience accept that? Or does your soul feel a draft?Back to Devin's Poetry Index
