Eternal Destiny
By: JoAnna Martin

Lying in the remains of shattered faith,
beyond the reach of salvation.
Nothing but a shadow in the night,
motionless in my silent sedation.
Hidden in darkness amongst the brush,
lurking in my haven of seclusion.
The silence makes the night seem tranquil
but its nothing more than an illusion.
Midnight approaches...the witching hour,
once again time for me to seize the night.
I emerge from hiding and embrace the darkness,
the full moon casting the only light.
An angel of doom stalking its prey,
I stealthily walk through the streets,
longing for the crimson elation
I feel with each final heartbeat.
How I love to feel the heated flesh
of a body pressed against mine.
The gentle caresses and tender kisses
as our bodies intertwine.
Then at the most extreme moment of pleasure,
that long awaited intensity,
my fangs eagerly pierce the skin on his neck
and he gasps as he is taken unexpectedly.
The flow of blood passing through my lips,
my victims breaths decreasing steadily,
and that moment where our hearts beat as one
is nothing less than pure ecstasy.
I release him and look into his eyes
as he takes his final breath.
Lifeless and completely bled dry
by my passionate kiss of death.
Day by day, I give in to my hunger,
that raging inferno inside me,
the craving of the warm life’s blood
is the whole of my eternal destiny.
