Allure of a Vampire-Part II ~The Bloody Kiss~ By: JoAnna Martin
Standing with a smile, he says, "My love, you’ve made the right choice." Clearly I could hear the satisfaction in his voice. With that, my hands were taken in his as he pulled me to stand. He bowed deeply before me and gently kissed my hand. Before I could blink, he had me back in his embrace, faster than my eyes could see, yet moving with grace. Running his fingers through my hair, he pulls my head back, forcing me to gaze at the sky, seeing nothing but black. The stars had all vanished, so had the moon. I knew my final breath would be coming soon. I felt his lips and tongue brush my neck, then his teeth sank in deep, I gasped; my back arching; my consciousness I fight to keep. First my heartbeat races, then slows to nearly a stop as he takes the blood from my body, barely leaving a drop. A deadly shadow descends on me, my life is being drained away, blood is quickly flowing through his lips, under my feet the ground sways. Teetering on the brim of death’s abyss, I grow limp in his arms. Looking all around me, I see the Angel’s of Darkness swarm. Squeezing my eyes shut and wincing at the erotic pain, I wonder if my heart will ever beat for me again. My shallow breaths begin to cease, death is very near by, while comfortably cradled in his arms, he releases his bite with a sigh. Still patiently waiting to take that last breath, I feel closer to nothingness, closer to death, I study the luminescence in his eyes, thinking this sight will be my last, trying to cherish his beauty as my life withers away fast. Only moments had passed but it seemed like forever. Feeling an unbearable sensation, I wish my life-line would be severed. A steady pressure is now crushing my chest, nausea swells up within, I’m having trouble breathing, the walls are closing in. My blood is boiling within my veins, my skin is on fire. I feel my body dying, I patiently wait for this to transpire. As I am fading to black, he brings his wrist to his lips, breaking open the flesh, down his arm the blood drips. He forces the bloody wrist into my mouth, begging me to drink, telling me to stare deep into his eyes and try not to blink. I feel the blood upon my tongue as he opens his veins to me, the strength rising from an unknown source as I drink ravenously. I fix my eyes unto his with my lips locked on his wrist, I don’t ever want to pull away from this bloody kiss. Feeling the silent rapture in this state of elation, I am consumed by a bloodlust and morbid adoration. The ground spins underneath me, the sky whirls up above, colors burst behind my closed eyes as I am enthralled in this dark love. I wish I could explain it but the feeling is too hard to describe. How does one illustrate such a euphoric state of mind? Passion such as this was never experienced by me before, the intensity of a vampires affection is something to implore. But as all good things do, this exhilaration comes to an end, leaving my soul with an emptiness I cannot comprehend. To his arm I hold tight, even as he pulls away, afraid that if I let him go, this whole dream might fade. Sensing my thoughts he speaks to me, his energy wearing thin, his voice, but a whisper in the night, carried with the wind. "Always I have and always I will hold you deep inside my heart, now your blood will always run with mine even when we are apart. Our hearts will always beat as one, together our souls will rest, together we’ll be, for eternity, all from my deadly kiss. But my love, I must go now, for the sun is soon to rise. I will return when the sky looks down upon you with its starry eyes. You must cherish this sunrise, for surely it will be your last. Afterwards, no longer upon you can the sunrays be cast. For at the arrival of the next dusk, a night dweller you will be, embracing the intricate mysticism of darkness with me. In time, love, I will teach you all that I know, all the powers that you now possess and all those that will grow. Now take this kiss upon thy lips, I shall return tonight and together we’ll be in each others arms shadowed by the moonlight." Then on towards the horizon he walks silently, turning only for a moment to blow a kiss to me. I sit on the bank of the river’s edge watching the rise of the sun, watching as it rays dance radiantly on the water, one by one. I see the psychedelic colors of the world through new eyes. Through new ears I can hear even the faintest of cries. All senses and thoughts are much sharper than before, each emotion and feeling touches my souls innermost core. I bask in this comfort until the sunrise comes to an end, knowing it will never be seen by me again. So for now I will wait for my Lords return. It is only for he that my hearts fire will burn. Forever I will walk within death’s mystery, and the Dark Angels will eternally watch over me.
