Silent Tears
By: JoAnna Martin

Silent tears
dampen my pillow,
my cheek.

Stability like
branches of a willow-
wispy, weak.

Mental anguish
stained with shattered pride,
intense agony.

Eyes swollen and red
from tears cried.
Someone help me.

End this torment
that devours
my existence.

Tame the rage
that powers
deaths persistence.

Dry my silent tears.
