Thank You

A large part of me has died inside, 
That's known because of the tears I cried,
My heart has gone on to the afterlife
and I thank you.
You taught me how to live my life again,
You weren't just my boyfriend but my best friend,
I think of all the helping hands you'd lend,
and I thank you.
Even though you broke my heart you helped it heal,
You really know and care about how I feel, 
That is how I know that your love for me was real
and I thank you.
You were always the one to show me the way,
Even after your love for me had drifted away, 
I hope that I'll be able to repay you one day,
but for now, I'll just thank you.
