ABSTRACT EMOTION It’s an abstract emotion There’s so many reasons why I should tear you apart Rip you to pieces and slash out your heart In turn there’s the bright side The feeling to love you To please and delight you. One minute I love you the next I despise you. ESCAPE Falling falling Downward spirals Hold on tight We're falling faster Endless tunnels Where's the light? Colors colors What a trip Spinning flying Soaring higher A new euphoria Short delight? Rivers rivers Rosey red Trickling down Pain released A mark a scar Perhaps to heal? Losing losing Lost control Destructive emotions Take over what's left A demon released Can it be held in much longer? Sleeping sleeping It's all that's left A time to hide Within a dream Trying not to break We need an escape SICKNESS The sickness consumes me Controlling my mind Psychotic delusion Is all that I find Slowly I'm losing In time I'll be gone When sickness takes over I'll hear death's sweet song I see through new eyes The blackest of skies I hear through these ears The screams and the tears Sometimes I wonder what happened to me What took my mind What sucked out my sanity I've lost it I know But sickly I grin This could be fun This new life of sin My twisted perception And sick imagination Everything else's useless Just me and my sickness SENSES WASTED Shattered glass and tattered wings Listen to the ravens sing The howling of the wolf you hear Deep inside you feel the fear See the sky before it fades The moon, the sun, the cloud's parade Feel the wind and it's cool sweet breath Enjoy it quickly before your death DEAD MAN'S HAND Cut the deck The game begins Deal out the cards One chance to win Look at your hand Which cards should you take? Better choose wisely Your life is at stake It’s a sick little game So just place your bet There’s no turning back Let’s see what you get Fate has a way Of making things seem Like a lose-lose situation unless There’s an ace up your sleeve DREAM AWAY Here's your name Painted on the walls of my own cell Lost the key Can't get out of here... The painted letters slowly drip A drop of blood falls My alternate tear... The light is gone Time to sleep for a while No more fear... Shut it out Close out the world Dreaming again I shut my eyes... Holding tight Trying to dream Where I can fly... Soar past the stars Out of this world No need to cry... It's gone It's better now right? Not like before I've lost that smile... Think like an optimist Hide from the pessimist I'm in denial... Curl up and hide Dream it all away Dissapear for a while... NIGHTMARE Here I am sleeping, Dreaming No where to run, I stand screaming Monsters to grim to even bear Here all alone in my nightmare I wish I could wake up now Escape from here but I don't know how Trapped within my mind's dark lair Here inside my own nightmare INSOMNIAC'S DREAM I lay on this bed With nothing to do Time passes by My mind is askew. I try to shut my eyes And get lost in a dream But my mind is too alert To fall asleep it seems. Every minute seems like an hour Time seems like it’s about to stop Yet I lay here wide awake Watching the seconds on the clock. Maybe I really am sleeping If you know what I mean Maybe this isn’t real... Just an insomniac’s dream. SCHOOL Fluorescent flickering bulbs, Dim at times then bright? Or bright lights from above Guiding your eyes as you write? A place to learn of science, Math, and history? Or to learn of human nature Pain and humility? Halls full of peers All different races and unique. Or full of the same monsters, Listening to every word you speak? It’s all just a matter Of point of view None of it looks the same Neither to me nor to you. Black to the pessimist To the optimist white Two very different views But neither of them right. The only thing that I do know And definitely can say, Is that all of it seems the same Each and every passing day.
