Ok, seriously, if you do not know who this band is by now, then you obviously do not listen to me....EVER!! So please, go check them out at www.suicidecity.com or www.myspace.com/suicidecity. Your life is just not complete until you have seen at least one Suicide City show...and chances are one will not be enough!!!
Anyway, on to the bad ass show!!! It was at Room 2858 in Middletown, NJ (which also happens to be the Knights of Columbus...should have been a red flag!!). In an attempt to avoid NJ traffic, I got there way before the show started....and way before any of my friends were going to be there (I was meeting up with Ktina and Ni who were coming from PA and Carl and Will who were coming from LI). So yeah, I thought I was going to have a boring wait until I ran into Pistol who I know from myspace. We had never met before but recognized each other right away. She's a fucking trip! So we hung out and were just being silly. Karl came out and hung out for a while...so did Billy and Danny. Eventually we ran into Jenn and AJ too and we all exhanged hugs and hellos. Its been over a year since I have seen them so it was really nice! I've missed them so much!! Anyway, We headed inside to check the place out....it kind of looked like someone's basement....which was OK! But unfortunately I found out after going inside that it is an all-ages alcohol-free club. OK, so I knew it was all ages...thats fine....but alcohol free??? Now that sucks!!!! But hey, whatever....I'm there to see Suicide City, not get drunk right??? A couple of other bands played first....none that really did anything for me. Except Signature Escape....they were pretty good. I spent most of the time worrying about where all my friends were....they were all running really late. Ktina and Ni finally show up just minutes before Suicide City comes on so we all run to the front to represent for them!!!! Karl starts off with a few acrobatics and they tear into one of my favorites, Diemonds! What a killer way to start the show! We went nuts! Forgive my pea brain but I cannot tell you with certainty what the order of the rest of the songs were....but they also played Cutter, Fuck Your Dreams....which they rocked so hard on, the sound system went out! You think that would stop them?? Of course not!!! Danny improvised by playing a wicked drum solo until they got everything fixed. And while he played, Karl got on top of some equipment and did a strip tease....then proceded to drop his pants and stick a microhone in his ass! Yep, ya gotta love Karl!!!! Then Jenn got up and danced for us too! Finally the equipment is fixed and they decide to skip the rest of Fuck Your Dreams and continue on with the rest of the show. They also played Burn (their ever-so-fucking-amazing Cure cover), and 2 songs off the new album - Chemical Fight and Best Way to Die. And lastly they played Undone (my other favorite!!!), which they almost stopped playing halfway through when they realized the room was suddenly filled with cops. But they continued on with the rest of the song. And before they could begin their last song (Give Me Your Pity), the cops took the stage and canceled the rest of the show (which really sucks for No Hollywood Ending...who was supposed to play next...it was their CD release party too....I felt so bad for them). Apparantly a couple of jackasses were drinking beers outside a few blocks away and threw their empties on someone's front lawn. The owner of the house flipped out and called the cops and assuming the jackasses were from the show, demanded that it be shut down. So thanks you inconsiderate motherfuckers for ending the show way before it should have ended!!!! It all worked out OK though....we headed to the liquor store across the street, loaded up on beer and liquor, and headed to Billy's house where we had a blast for the rest of the night!

I don't know what happened...it just wouldn't turn on. The battery was not dead, there were plenty of pictures left....it just decided it didnt want to take anymore....so there really arent as many live shots as I would normally take. Thankfully though, it did start working again later in the night!!!! Whew!!!!
